Resetting passwords

There may be times where teachers cannot login to Firefly after activating their cloud account. In these situations, you can quickly reset their password to something you can manually set.

Please note these instructions are for cloud sites. If you're locally hosted, it's more than likely that you're using Active Directory to create users and manage passwords, so you'll need to reset the password from there.

1.  Ensure that the account has been activated

Please make sure the teacher has first activated their account by clicking the green activation link on the login page. It doesn't matter if they don't receive an email.

2.  Log in to Firefly and open the Control Panel
3.  Select the Users tab and then select Reset password(s)
4.  Add the user

Start typing in the name of the user in the pop up bar. Select the desired username from the drop-down options.

Add one user at a time to avoid unintended results.

5.  Select Add a manual password override
6.  Add a password of your choice

Teachers will be able to change their password, so it's best to keep the password generic at this point.

7.  Select Password Reset to complete the process

Wait 30 seconds before inviting the teacher to log in again.
