Setting tasks

Set homework or in-class tasks for any student, group, or class.

1.  On the dashboard, select Set a New Task
2.  Enter a person or group

Start typing the name of the person, class or group that you wish to set the task for. Firefly takes this information directly from your school's system.

3.  Describe the task that you would like to set
4.  Attach files or pages to the task

Choose if you would like to attach files or a Firefly page to help the students with their homework.

  • To attach a file such as a worksheet or Power Point file, choose Attach file from computer. Find the file that you would like to attach and choose Open. The file will be added as an attachment in the box below the task description. You can add as many files as you wish to support the homework.
  • To attach a Firefly page, choose Attach existing page. Find the page that you would like to attach from the menu and then choose Attach. The page will added as a link in the box below the task description.
5.  Choose the submission method
  • If you would like students to submit work through Firefly only, select Require recipients to submit files online, then choose Next.
  • If students do not need to submit anything, there's no need to tick this box. Select Next to proceed.
6.  Publish the task

Choose Publish Task. This will publish the task on your dashboard and on the dashboard of any student for whom you set the task.

Find the task on your dashboard to check the students' progress.

You can set tasks on any device. The Teacher Planner App is a great way to set and manage tasks.
